I was invited to come and photograph this property as the owner is going to start renovation work and they’d like photos documenting what it was like to look back on.
When I was shown into the house I couldn’t believe it, it was just how her grandmother had left it. Originally the house was built circa 1870s and was used the curate’s residence for the nearby parish.
It came with 18 acres of land and a yard that consisted of cowsheds, stables, piggery, and a grain loft. There were many workers employed on the farm with some of them living on site and sleeping in the loft.
I've a full chapter dedicated to Maggie's in my new book 'Abandoned Ireland' now available to buy in all good book stores 📚
